Organizing For America Focuses on Healthcare Reform

When we old Obama campaign volunteers started NNN (The Neighbor to Neighbor Network) in November, we said that one of its main purposes was to support President Obama’s agenda. To that end we have been successful in mounting a volunteer recycling brigade, hosting economic recovery and house parties, gathering signatures to support the President’s budget and now we are hard at work promoting health care reform.

On June 6 we kicked off the health care campaign at house parties across the country and in Mason County. In Mason County there were two, one at the Belfair Farmer’s Market and one at the Shelton Olde Time Auto Show. In the meantime, I agreed that I would help OFA with events throughout the 6th Congressional District—and there were nine!

Each group organized a follow up event to continue the discussion and activism to make health care for all a reality in 2009. Please put these two events on your calendar! What do we want? Health Care! When do we want it? Now!
