Pay 2012 Membership Dues

That little green graph line across the top of the virtual phone bank script creeps across the page, one phone call at a time....3 not homes, NEXT, NEXT, NEXT one wrong number, and then "Hi.... How are you? Remember me from the Obama campaign, I'm Marcia Hamilton, the OFA community organizer in Mason county."

OFA has set the number of shifts to get through for the week. The campaign calling has begun. Our team is gearing up! OFA has begun to organize. I want to get through the list. I am at first glad when there is no answer because I can choose "not home" and the little green line grows faster, but then, once I've started to talk to the folks who are actually home (and who are as excited as I am that the President is running) and I get to fill in the box "I'm in," "I'm in," and arrange for times to get together. Soon I begin to be disappointed when the phone isn't answered.

I want to talk to every supporter I can! Folks say things like, "Of course, I'm in. We're all in." I'm in 100%." Wouldn't a Trump/Palin ticket be GREAT!" "I'm not happy about Libya, but I'm in." Don't people realize all that has been accomplished in two and a half years? It's amazing: Health care; economic reform; Wall Street reform! "Why do they blame President Obama. The Republicans got us into this mess." I am joyous. I am talking to people who believe what I believe.

Obama for America AND Organizing for America together are now one (OFA + OFA = OFA). We are expanding our team to get ready to win 2012. We are the voice of the President at the local level—all over the country. We will be talking, calling, training, rallying, organizing, meeting, strategizing, planning and preparing to get out the vote in October 2012.

We not only need you to be "in" but to help out! To that end there will be a short OFA "meet and greet" at the Grove Street Brewery in Shelton at 5:00 just before each MCDCC meeting. As I called folks to find out if they are "in", I invite them to come and meet other OFA'ers and to come to the Dem meeting on the 11th. Spread the word! Make sure your Votebuilder ID is up to date. Get "In" and join us at 5:00 at First and Grove in Shelton at 5:00 (...and check out mybarackobama.com to see the new 2012 website).
