The Democratic Women's Club will meet at El Sarape in Gateway Center on Wednesday, May 19, 2010. A no host lunch begins at 11:30 a.m.

Following a short business meeting at noon, PUD Commission Chair Linda Gott will give an update on the proposed new PUD 3 facilities on Johns Prairie.

In April, rather than scheduling a speaker for our meeting, we decided to spend time talking about some "hot button issues" in the County.  Considerable discussion focused on the proposed Adage Plant, the lack of information which has been made available on the project to date, and the perceived unwillingness of elected officials (Port, PUD, City and County) to conduct public hearings to provide citizens a forum to formally express their concerns and get answers to questions. Discussion also included the upcoming election season and the candidates who are intending to run. Overall, it was a great meeting where a lot of good information was shared.

Next month's meeting with Linda Gott as our speaker should also be one you won't want to miss. So plan to join us on May 19th!
