As state committee woman for the 35th legislative district I have the privilege of representing the Democratic voters of Mason County at Washington State Democratic Central Committee (WSDCC) meetings. Cathi Baily Bright is the state committee woman for Mason county, but since Mason County is part of the 35th LD we’re both accountable to the Democrats of Mason County. I see my role as a conduit, someone who shares information between groups of people.

Yes, the LGBT community legitimately and actively promotes this legislation. Unfortunately, the cohort of elders who are or will become involved in loving relationships but cannot marry without financial losses has no organization to speak for them. So, Baby Boomers, listen up! This law may be extremely important to you or someone in your family.

T o everyone who attended or helped with our August 8th picnic--Amazing job! Thanks to you, it turned out better that we ever expected. In fact, it was our best picnic fundraiser yet (by only a few dollars, but hey, it was still a record). And to Diane Arnold, the auctions and raffles made all the difference between good results and great results. Plus, at an average of nearly $40 apiece, the dessert auction was a hit. And, of course two rides on the Moyer’s boat added a huge boost to the total, too. Thanks again, everyone.

Change is coming to the 35th!  Our loss, Bremerton’s gain.  Congratulations to Daryl Daugs on his recently announced candidacy for the vacant Bremerton mayoral position.  Daryl’s tenure with the LD was brief but innovative and productive.  Although he felt it was necessary to resign the position in order to devote his full time and energy to the demands of conducting a major campaign, we wish him the best in his pursuit of this important office.
