MCDCC planned to open an office in early 2012 to support democratic candidates. Recent events are forcing us to rethink our time line and open an office by November 2011.

Mason County Commissioner Districts 1 and 2 are up for election in November 2012. However, with the recent vacancy of District 3, there will be three commissioner positions in 2012. 35th Legislative District State Representative Fred Finn has announced he will not run for re-election in 2012, but State Representative Kathy Haigh has stated she will seek re-election. The state offices and presidential race will also be on the ballot.

Clearly we will need to have a presence in the county and start campaign services. That will require opening an office now. It will cost approximately $1,000 per month to operate the office (that includes about $600-700 in rent, and $300 in utilities). Can we depend on your support to meet our goal?
