Democratic Committment

My name is Marcie Lohmeyer and I am your nominated candidate for Mason County Assessor.

I have been committed to the Democratic Party since I became an official member in 2008. I will keep the integrity of the party's platform within myself when working for the citizens of Mason County as Assessor.

I take my responsibility as a Democrat seriously. Before I declared myself to be a Democrat, I looked at our platform to see if my beliefs were in line with the party. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how many of the principals I truly believed in, such as security for all citizens, education, jobs and economic opportunity for all, accessible and affordable health care for all and many other civic responsibilities.

Even though being Assessor does not require these principals to run an office it is still my duty as a Democrat to reflect these qualities in myself as a representative of the party. In addition to our local platform, I support the vision of the National Party: honest leadership, real security, energy Independence, economic prosperity and educational excellence, a health care system that works for everyone and retirement security.

These principals directly affect how I would treat the office staff by "stopping the downward trend in worker's wages, supporting the foundation for healthy communities, healthy families and a prosperous nation and world." As Assessor, I would have a direct impact on the staff and community by my actions. I would have the responsibility to lead by example, treat all employees fairly and with respect and respect the unions of which they are members.

As a Democrat I would work for an efficient, responsive government based on sound fiscal practices. I would participate in an open government providing services that strengthen our communities and support the needs of all citizens. I would provide a citizen friendly office.

I am a public servant and would support the party's platforms in my duties as Assessor. I ask for your vote of confidence in by ability to represent these visions as your next Mason County Assessor.
