Greetings Fellow Democrats, Hi! My name is Marcie Lohmeyer, and I am your candidate for county assessor. Currently, I hold the position of Land Segregation Deputy in the Assessor's Office and have worked for Mason County since 1991.
I am a long time resident who is married with five children and one grandchild. I enjoy gardening, antiquing and travel.
In preparation of becoming your next county assessor, I officially joined the Mason County Democrats in 2008.
Prior to working for the county, I worked for a local credit union, then for a local title company. I graduated from High School in Shelton, attended Olympic Community College and have taken various work related courses with the Department of Revenue.
My involvement in the community throughout the years has been by participating in a multitude of fundraisers such as the Mason County Homeless Shelter, March of Dimes, Shelton High School Senior Class, Forest Fantasy, 4-H and Relay for Life. I was a project leader for 4-H, volunteer judge for the Mason County Fair, parent volunteer at Southside School and a Tiger Cub Scout Leader. Currently, I am a team member of Relay for Life and participate in fund raising for various Mason County food banks.
I am a strong union member having held many positions within the organization including Contract Negotiator, Shop Steward and now Secretary of my local.
My job responsibilities in the Assessor's Office include processing all recorded documents pertaining to property ownership such as conveyance documents, boundary line adjustments, property combinations & separations, road right-of-ways, short plats, large lot subdivisions, new city & county plats and redistribute property values within the various forest programs for segregation. I also review and process court decrees and quit title actions, road vacations and property surveys. This is in addition to assisting the public and other county departments with property inquiries.
In over 18 years of experience with the county, I have forged a working relationship with a vast cross section of property owners & real estate professionals and have become known as the “go-to” person to solve their specific property concern. I would like to take the next step in serving the people of Mason County by becoming your next Democratic Mason County Assessor.
In an upcoming newsletter, I will share my goals for the Assessor's Office.
