Roslynne Reed running for Mason County Commissioner, District 2!

RReed_BWRoslynne Reed, Democrat, announced she is running for Mason County Commissioner, District 2, stating  “We need to start taking the position seriously and give all constituents of District 2 full representation.”

Besides full-time representation, Roslynne Reed will be a working partner with the other two Commissioners. With the number of projects in progress in the County, budget oversight and program management will be necessary to assure fairness and equity of the public’s resources.  Reed also offers to help bridge any gaps with various governments to ensure all interests are considered and that attention and funding continue for the restoration and maintenance of Hood Canal.

Roslynne Reed is a native of Shelton, born in Mason General Hospital in 1952.  She is a Skokomish Tribal Member and related to members of the Squaxin Island Tribe.  Roslynne Reed retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in 1997 at the age of 45, working in various positions such as Air Traffic Controller, Program/Management Specialist, Personnel Specialist, Drug & Alcohol Coordinator, and Training Supervisor. She was elected to the Skokomish Tribal Council for a 4-year term and during that time, elected to General Council President for two one-year terms. She served as Tribal Business Manager for 6 months and General Manager of the Skokomish Tribe’s Lucky Dog Casino during it’s start-up.

Roslynne Reed was the Skokomish Precinct Committee Officer and currently the Chair of the Mason County Democrats.  Her original political experience was in 1980 staffing the U. S. Department of Transportation’s Transition Team for President-elect Ronald Reagan in Washington, DC.
