Davis says, "We know that these are challenging and uncertain economic times for all of us. We must work together to come up with solutions on how to put people back to work in our state.
My focus will be on:
♦ Working collaboratively with local business owners and citizens to produce good paying jobs in our area;
♦ Enhancing our education system by overcoming those challenges that prevent us from achieving a future of success;
♦ Preserving the health and beauty of our natural resources for future generations while sustaining our timber, shellfish and other resource-based industries.
♦ Getting back to the core principle of being fiscally responsible by living within our means as a state and producing a budget that reflects our highest ideals;
Davis, a Democrat, is an elected Commissioner at the Port of Olympia, where he has overseen increased use of port properties, resulting in an increase in both revenue and employment. He is a member of the Thurston County Economic Development Council and a trustee of the chamber of commerce. Davis, a father of three, resides on a small farm, where he occasionally enjoys raising livestock. Growing up in a small town along the Columbia River, Davis is a lifelong resident of the Northwest, and a graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in Political Science.
Jeff Davis is a longshoreman and has owned a successful property management business, served as a credit union trustee, a school board member, and a county planning commissioner.
Representative Brian Blake (D-Aberdeen) has endorsed Davis, saying, "As a working man and business leader, Jeff is able to see multiple sides of our economic challenges while understanding how natural resources play into that. He has the proven ability to work with all people, regardless of party to seek realistic solutions and would represent the ideals of the 35th district."
Davis who formally made his announcement earlier this week has received over $11,000 in pledges and is excited for the opportunity to serve all the citizens the 35th. To learn more, please visit www.electjeffdavis.com.
