Our Mission Statement:
Mason County Democrats have a proud history of progressive political and social activism on behalf of Mason County residents. In an area once dominated by timber and shellfish related industries, Mason County Democratic Party membership today reflects the economic swing from heavy dependence on forest products to a more balanced array of service jobs, employment in government and forest products employment. Growth in retirees moving to their summer homes is balanced by young families seeking low-cost housing.
Mason County Democrats stand tall for good schools, fair taxes, citizen friendly government and safe communities. Protecting the environment as an essential criterion for preserving a rural quality of life is a ballot box issue for most Mason County Democrats. As longtime protectors of public power, Mason County Democrats support low rates for consumers, a first-class system of public utilities and the rights of all Mason County employees to organize for collective representation.
Working for affordable health care for all citizens is critical to maintaining a healthy community – a goal for Mason County Democrats.
